I'll admit, I may have a bit of a problem when it comes to beauty products. My collection isn't the biggest, but I might have more than I truly need. It's one of the few things that I collect, and this collection causes me to have a few misses within my hits. I may make a blog post later on about products I regret buying, but this one is all about the ones I absolutely love and have purchased/will purchase over and over again.
1. Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation: $35
My skin has always been really pale and oily. Because of this, I was never able to find a drugstore foundation that matched my skin. I finally switched to trying to find a high-end foundation since the color ranges are larger. I've tried one before this one that had a pretty close color match, but it would still oxidize and become darker on my skin, and it also would bead up on my skin when I'd have really bad oily days. This one, however, gives me a flawless skin look, and actually matches my skin (what a time to be alive). I wear the shade Light 41 Neutral, but there are 31 shades in total on the Sephora website. http://shopstyle.it/l/bYF
2. Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Creme: $26
This concealer is on the same line that the foundation is. It has great coverage and comes in a shade that I can actually highlight under my eyes with. It is great when paired with the Kat Von D foundation listed above. I wear Light 1, but it also comes in a shade called White Out (it is literally white - not white with a bit of tan, it's white), so if someone needs a shade even lighter, or needs something between two shades, that can be an option for everyone. There are 21 shades on the Sephora website. http://shopstyle.it/l/bYH
3. Revlon PhotoReady Translucent Finishing Powder: $13.99
This is my favorite drugstore setting powder. It doesn't give any flashback in photos, and also has a fantastic staying power. It was always my go-to in high school, especially for prom. This powder is also cheap (which is always a plus) compared to the high-end foundations that are the same quality as this one. http://shopstyle.it/l/bZk
4. Beauty Blender + Mini blendercleanser Solid Kit: $25
I always thought the Beauty Blender trend was a fad until I bought one a couple months ago. It blends my foundation and concealer flawlessly, and I always love seeing it double in size when I wet it. With my brushes, my foundation and concealer would get streaky, but with the Beauty Blender, I get an airbrushed look. I recommend this specific kit because it comes with a blendercleanser solid. I used to spend thirty minutes cleaning my brushes, but this solid reduces that time to less than 10, and my brushes come out looking brand new every time. http://shopstyle.it/l/bYQ
5. Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit: $40
The ABH Glow Kits never cease to amaze me. I've owned two, and they have easily made highlighting my favorite part of my daily makeup routine. The collaboration with Nicole Guerriero is my favorite of the two that I own because the pigmentation is insane. If I'm having a bad day, I'll just sit in my bed and swatch the shades on my arms until I look like I murdered the Glow Kit monster. Forever Lit, the white shade in the palette is my favorite. It makes you glow like an angel sent straight from Heaven. http://shopstyle.it/l/bYZ
Because this palette is limited edition, I am also linking to another Glow Kit called Sundipped. http://shopstyle.it/l/bY2 ($40)
6. Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio - Walking on Eggshells: $2.99
This eyeshadow trio was all beauty gurus raved about in 2010. Because of its price-point, one might think it's an awful product, but this $3 trio is better than some of the $15 palettes I've tried from the drugstore. It was all I used in middle school, and when I tried it again a couple months ago, I was amazed by the quality yet again. It's all you need for a simple everyday eye look, and costs less than $5. http://shopstyle.it/l/bZo
7. Urban Decay Naked (Original) & Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palettes: $48.60-54
The Urban Decay Naked palettes are a cult classic. While all four are amazing, the original and Smoky editions are my favorites. As you can see by the picture below, I've practically killed my original Naked palette (it's probably time for a new one). These two palettes are my go-tos for everyday looks, whether it be more natural or more smoky. The pigmentation is fantastic and even when the palettes are 4 years old (like my original... I know, I know, they technically expire after a year, but who actually throws away a $50 palette that isn't completely used up?), the pigmentation is pristine. They're an investment, but definitely one you won't regret. http://shopstyle.it/l/bZg (Original) & http://shopstyle.it/l/bZe (Smoky)
8. Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara: $6.99
The Maybelline Mega Plush mascara is my favorite drugstore mascara. I repurchased it for 4 years straight, I believe. It's a mousse formula, which I love because it's not cakey or heavy on the lashes. It separates and lengthens the lashes, and it's the one I always recommend to people who ask my opinion on drugstore mascaras. I also love it because it's not an overly liquidy mascara. Being someone who has eyelids on the oilier side, I hate when my mascara feels tacky and like it will never dry. I've never had that problem with this mascara, which is one of the main reasons it's my tried and true. http://shopstyle.it/l/bY9
9. Benefit Roller Lash Mascara: $12-24
This is another product that everyone raves about. I hopped on the bandwagon pretty late (the cheap, travel size bandwagon, to be exact), but I sure am glad that I did. Out of the high end mascaras I have tried, this is the best. The others I'd tried had that wet, tacky feeling that I hate, but this one, on the other hand, is dry and gives amazing length and volume. I feel like I'm wearing false lashes when I have this mascara on. It takes my makeup to the next level. http://shopstyle.it/l/bY8
10. Pantene Repair & Protect Shampoo and Conditioner: $3.84/$3.97
Before I started using this shampoo and conditioner duo, my hair felt dry, brittle, and cracked. It sounds like a myth, but I swear this stuff can repair your hair in one use. It makes my hair soft, shiny, and have more body. It also lessens my split ends. If my hair feels damaged from hair dye or bleach, I can use this stuff once and it will feel 100x better. I swear this duo is a miracle worker. http://shopstyle.it/l/bYS (Shampoo) & http://shopstyle.it/l/bYU (Conditioner)
